The largest hedge fund in the world is getting state aid amounting to what looks like $140 million to relocate from Westport to Stamford.
That money has already started flowing. The State Bond Commission has allocated $16 million to Bridgewater Associates’ landlord, Building and Land Technology.
Yet, according to a recent letter from the Department of Economic and Community Development to a Stamford activist who opposes the project, the state still has no agreement with the hedge fund.
“The terms have not yet been negotiated and no contracts for such financial assistance have been drafted by or on behalf of the agency,” the agency said in the letter.
